By combining hardware, software, and data, we’re building a delightful unattended shopping experience for consumers and making operating an unattended Smart Store easy for entrepreneurs.

Our Values

Role Overview

We are building the next generation of IoT-enabled Smart Stores - blending hardware, software, and real-world operations into a seamless retail experience.
As the Supply Chain Lead, you will oversee the end-to-end supply chain operations for Micromart’s proprietary hardware solutions. You will be responsible for procuring technical components, managing global supplier and contract manufacturer (CM) relationships, optimizing hardware inventory, and coordinating the logistics of high-value physical assets.
The ideal candidate is data-driven, thrives in a high-growth environment, and can balance high-level strategic planning with hands-on day-to-day execution. This is a hybrid role based out of our Downtown Toronto office, with local travel required between office and warehouse locations within the GTA.

Key Responsibilities

Planning, Procurement & Financial Management

  • Forecasting & Planning: Partner closely with Sales and Operations to update forecasts. Build and maintain project plans and Gantt charts to identify critical dependencies and ensure production rates align with customer delivery timelines.
  • Supplier & CM Collaboration: Work closely with key suppliers and contract manufacturers (CMs) to ensure alignment on production timelines, inventory levels, capacity bottlenecks, and Bill of Materials (BOM) revisions or engineering changes (ECOs).
  • BOM Cost and Cash Flow Management: Actively manage and optimize BOM costs. Partner with suppliers to find ways to optimize spending and efficient ways to scale without compromising quality.

Inventory Management & Logistics

  • Receiving & Quality Assurance: Build and run processes for receiving, inspecting, and validating incoming components to ensure they meet hardware/software specifications.
  • Custom Component Configuration: Manage the workflows, physical space, technicians, and technical documentation required for flashing/configuring components, assembling proprietary parts, and pre-kitting.
  • Logistics & Freight Optimization: Coordinate end-to-end inbound and outbound hardware logistics between suppliers, warehouses, manufacturing partners, and end customers. Implement cost-saving strategies for both domestic and international shipping (freight and small parcel).
  • Inventory Reconciliation & Audits: Lead monthly physical inventory audits and reconciliation processes across all locations, including the corporate office, third-party warehouses, and CM facilities.
  • RMA & Vendor Returns: Manage the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process for defective parts. Coordinate root-cause analyses, manage vendor returns, and secure component refunds or replacements.
  • Safety & Spare Stock Management: Maintain optimal safety stock levels to support continuous production, as well as spare parts inventory to support customer warranty and non-warranty field repairs across all sites.

ERP Systems & Continuous Process Improvement

  • ERP & Automation Systems: Implement lightweight ERP systems and automation tools to streamline workflows, eliminate manual entries, and reduce operational errors.
  • Workflow Optimization & Visibility: Continuously improve supply chain workflows, data reporting, and real-time inventory visibility across the entire organization.
  • KPI Tracking & Performance: Define and track operational KPIs related to inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rates, manufacturing throughput, and on-time delivery performance.
  • Scalable Process Documentation: Build repeatable operational processes and maintain comprehensive documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), inventory logs, QA records, and shipping manifests to support company growth.

Qualifications

Soft Skills & Mindset

  • Relentlessly resourceful: A creative problem-solver who’s unafraid to roll up their sleeves and solve novel problems.
  • High ownership and agency: Takes extreme responsibility and accountability for plans, quality, actions, and deliverables. Takes initiative for continuous improvement.
  • Highly organized and process oriented: Possesses a high degree of organization and process-orientation and pays close attention to detail.
  • Relationship-driven: Long term partnership driven for the success of our business, our customers and our partners.
  • Business Judgement & Negotiation: Strong commercial acumen with the ability to advocate for the company to secure favorable pricing, lower Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs), and compressed lead times from large global vendors.

Experience

  • Hardware Supply Chain Management: 5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing coordination, or hardware program management, ideally  working with hardware, IoT, networking or electro-mechanical products.
  • Planning & Financial Management: Strong background in demand forecasting, strategic procurement, budget planning, and critical-path dependency analysis.
  • Technical Literacy: Ability to interpret technical specification sheets, Bill of Materials (BOM) structures, and engineering changes to confidently communicate component requirements with hardware and software engineers.
  • Software Tools: Hands-on experience with SmartSheet or other advanced project planning and Gantt chart software to map out production timelines and dependencies. Proficiency with ERP/MRP or inventory management software. Direct experience implementing or migrating a new ERP system is a major bonus.
